Monday Morning Tai Chi Training Tip # 257
The Welcoming Prayer
Art Carpenter, one of our morning class participants, recently passed on. He was the joy of each and every day, singing, telling funny old jokes, and being a rare treasure. His wife Barb shared with us a prayer Art would recite every morning. I would like to share it with you, as it relates, not only to Tai Chi practice, but life in general. I’m sure you will find meaning in it. Art will be missed but never forgotten. The Morning Prayer might just help us get through these trying times with warmth in our hearts.
The Welcoming Prayer – Based on Fr. Keating’s Teachings
Welcome, welcome, welcome. I welcome everything that comes to me in this moment because it is for my healing.
I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.
I let go of my desire for power and control.
I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval, and pleasure.
I open to the love and presence of God and God’s action within.
