Susan started studying Tai Chi Chuan the Gilman Studio in 2003 and has been teaching since 2010. She is a graduate of Emily Carr college of Art and Design in Interdisciplinary Studies and has studied Modern and Jazz dance forms. “I went to my first class out of curiosity and a desire to explore something new. I was quickly enthralled with what I was (and am) learning. I have been so fortunate to study at the Gilman studio. The superb teaching and the opportunity to study almost everyday has been an amazing gift. I also love the camaraderie of working and sharing our practise with other Tai Chi players in our community. Tai Chi has had a profound effect on my life; the challenge of working toward an integrated mind and body is infinitely nuanced and as infinitely rewarding. I feel, that as with any art form, the joy of the study and play of Tai Chi brings a ever deepening awareness of both microcosm and macrocosm and the knowledge that I will never run out things to do or to think about.”
