Tai Chi Chuan Teaching Training Course

Michael Gilman, founder and director of ICHA, is a world recognized leader and innovator in the health and human potential movement. His work with Tai Chi Chuan has brought him national and international acclaim.

Michael began his Tai Chi studies in 1968 with Master Choy Kam-man, one of the earliest teachers in America. Michael received his teaching certificate in 1973 and has been teaching full time ever since. In 1990, he built a studio in Port Townsend, WA. designed to enhance the learning and practice of Tai Chi Chuan.

Stephanie has been an active participant at the Gilman Studio since 1994. Born in Tacoma, Washington, she studied at the University of Washington where she taught Comparative Literature and French language.

Joyce has been with the Gilman Studio since 2004. A Textile Artist, she’s from Memphis, Tennessee. She studied at Vanderbilt University as well as the Massachusetts College of Art.

Susanne is a gifted musican,singer, and tai chi teacher who is combining her expertise in music and Chi Kung to develop Sound Chi Kung.

John Considine

A Port Townsend resident since 1994 where he and his wife, Astrid, retired after a 43 year career as a television and film actor and writer. He has been studying Tai Chi with Michael Gilman since 2000 and has been teaching the ever popular Senior Tai Chi Class at the Gilman Studio since 2012.

Susan Leinbach

Susan started studying Tai Chi Chuan the Gilman Studio in 2003 and has been teaching since 2010. She is a graduate of Emily Carr college of Art and Design in Interdisciplinary Studies and has studied Modern and Jazz dance forms.
